Faculty of Caffeine

Went to Faculty of Caffeine to have brunch on last sunday, we reached there around 11am so it's not crowded yet. The place is quite small so im glad we went there earlier to avoid the crowd, yeay! The menu is pretty simple and the food variety is quite limited but I thought it's quite adequate for a brunch place. We ordered caffe latte, hot chocolate and hazelnut latte for our drinks. I'm not a coffee person but I really love my hazelnut latte, I hardly find any coffee that i like so i thought it's pretty good! :) For the mains, Shen Sim ordered the Classic, Cheesy, Garlicky while my sister ordered the Mouthful Sandwiches with bacon. I ordered the Generous Breakfast which you can choose either bacon, ham or sausage on the side. Wanted to opt for sausage but it's not available that day so i chose ham instead. We ordered a fudgy brownie to share after our mains because i heard that it's good. Ice cream and brownie could never go wrong unless it's a very bad ice cream and brownie, lol! Overall, the food is not bad and for sure they serve really good coffee there! We actually went to Maco Vintage for 2nd stop for our cafe hopping BUT the crepe cake we ordered was so so so bad that i don't even bother to upload the pictures..haha!

Udders Ice Cream + Habitat Coffee

Meet up with my cafe-hopping buddy aka babi Anelie last night and we actually went for dessert first before our mains, lol! Habitat Coffee was full when we reached so Anelie suggested that we go for ice cream first, haha! Went to Udders Ice Cream which is just nearby coz I refused to go back to Salted Caramel after my 1st visit last week. Anyway, we ordered Tira-miss-u and Rum Rum Raisin with waffle to share. The alcohol level of these 2 flavors was no joke, hahaha!! Waffle is not too bad but I still prefer Creamier's waffle. Habitat Coffee called us while we were in the mid of enjoying our ice cream so we were like gobbled down everything in 5 mins and off we go, lol!

We went Habitat for their brunch menu but sadly it's not available on weekdays night! So we decided to order the pasta and truffle fries to share. Anelie ordered Cheesynara for herself and she ordered the Ocean Linguine for me without my consent?! You have to order your food at the counter there so I guess she was too lazy to come back and ask what I want when the food we planned to order was not available. I thought it's the black pepper sauce pasta which I saw on the menu earlier on and I was like NO NO WAYYY then turns out it's the aglio olio style which I LOVEEEE, hehehe! The food was not bad, truffle fries was quite decent as well, but spr mrkt's one is still the best!

Anyway, really nice catch up with this babi and we talked about so many stuffs last night! Sometimes i am still puzzle when and how did we become such good friend when she was the one who scared the hell out of me during our FYP, lol! I felt a bit touched (a bit only lah hahaha) when she told me that she gave up her favorite pizza just for meeting me, lol! Well, I think we have to come back again on a Saturday to try their brunch menu especially the tomato egg relish that everyone was raving about!

New Ubin Seafood

This is by far the most delicious beef steaks that I have eaten. I am sorry (no i don't :p) for spamming the pictures of the beef but OMGOSH LOOK AT THE JUICY BEEF STEAKS!! Ok, so my friend was telling me about how fantastic the beef steak is and I am like seriously..in a seafood restaurant? We actually made the reservation 3 weeks ago to make sure we have a place, lol! #kiasumax

Anyway, back to the food! Seems like we ordered a lot of food for 2 but we only ordered 500g of US Angus Rib-Eye steak ($12/100gram) and 2 lamb ribs ($8/rib) to share. The beef steaks was served on a wooden chopping board with potato wedges and caramelized onions on the side. The best part of ordering the beef steak is it comes with a plate of signature beef lard fried rice!! The fried rice looks pretty simple but omg I just can't stop eating it, it was so so so good! Tasted like claypot rice but more flavorful, yummmm sinful yet amazing..hehe!

At that point of time, we nearly forget that we still have 2 lamb ribs waiting for us, lol! My friend and I were puzzled when they served us a plate of black pepper meat look-alike thingy before the lamb rack was served. We were telling that guy no we didn't order anything like this, we ordered ribs and obviously it doesn't look like a lamb rib to us at all, lol! Turned out it was the lamb fat that come together with the ribs that we ordered, omg! My friend love the lamb fat so much that he finished the whole plate by himself, I tasted a small bite only. I don't really like it but I absolutely love the black pepper sauce!! I keep dipping the potato wedges with the sauce instead of the mustard and ketchup given..hehe! The lamb rack was served with their homemade mint sauce and I can say I only love the unique mint sauce, the meat was quite mediocre.

So, you get potato wedges and a plate of beef lard fried rice when you order the angus beef steaks. And you get another complementary black pepper lamb fat when you order the lamb rack, hahaha! This explained why there's so much food on the table while we only order 2 dishes from the menu! Now i'm convinced that New Ubin Seafood restaurant literally serve one of the best beef steaks in Singapore and the price is really affordable. The place is quite hard to locate and I seriously have no idea how did we get there last time, lol!

Do make a reservation before you go down to avoid disappointment, like what we experienced 3 weeks ago..lol!

Wild Honey

Had brunch for our dinner last week before Eva flew off to London..for one week only lah..haha! She wanted to try Wild Honey so we went to the one at Scotts Square. There's another outlet at Mandarin Gallery but I personally prefer the Scotts Square outlet as it's more spacious. Eva ordered the Canadian which is basically stack of 3 pancakes served with Canadian bacon and maple syrup. This girl is seriously in love with pancake? She just had Mcd pancake for her breakfast on that day and yet she still opt for pancake out of so many choices available = = I had Spanish hash which consist of diced chorizo, house corned beef and potato plus 2 poached eggs. Well, the poached eggs didn't turn out like what I expected. As you can see from the picture, the eggs were over-cooked. Both of us couldn't finish the food as the portion is really a bit too much, should just ordered one to share..lol!

Ok, since I'm writing about Wild Honey, might as well write about my first visit to the outlet at Scotts Square..hahaha!! Went there with my dear Joanne and we ordered the Tunisian and 2 sides to share. Both of us thought that the Tunisian was really good! *best dish I've tasted in Wild Honey so far :)

Ok, I took a panorama picture that day to show how spacious the place is, haha!
