The question we always ask when the clock strikes 12 noon "Where are we going to eat today?" LOL! We usually have our lunch somewhere near our office but that day we decided to do cafe-hopping because our boss is not around, hehe! Went to Chye Seng Huat Hardware which is like 20 mins bus ride from our office and we were there quite early so the lunch crowd is not in yet (yeay~)

We ordered the truffle popcorn to share, we thought it's quite interesting but i can't really taste the truffle, it seems just like normal popcorn to me..meh! For the mains, shering ordered The Huat Breakfast while myct and me ordered the crab meat pasta. We sat along the bar so we got to see how the barista make their coffee, they have this very interesting hand-pressed coffee which they took numerous steps to prepare a cup of coffee, lol! Well, we didn't order the coffee because we were just not in the mood for coffee..hahaha!

Anyway, I thought the food was just decent but I always heard about the rave of this cafe, perhaps it's the coffee that attract the crowd.

Standing Sushi Bar

I guess the pictures kinda tell the whole story. We actually queued for an hour for this, it was really insane! The salmon sashimi was certainly a cheap thrill, $3 for 5 fat slices! Anelie wanted to order 50 slices(?!) but I stopped her so we cut down to 40 slices instead. Man I was so wrong to underestimate her appetite, I think she could finish all 40 slices by herself! Beside the sashimi, we also order the rock star sushi roll, tamago sushi and chawanmushi to share. It was really shiok to eat salmon sashimi like this, I think i never had so much sashimi at once in my life. We were so excited when they served us the sashimi, hehe! The rock star sushi roll was really yummy too!
