2D1N Melaka

Can't remember when was the last time I went to Melaka, probably 3-4 years ago. I've been craving for the nyonya dishes and the super famous satay celup for too long so we decided to go Melaka for a short getaway..hehe! We reached Melaka around evening time and the first stop we headed to was Restaurant Tong Sheng. Thanks to the courtesy of Shen Sim's friend, who lives in Melaka and help us make the reservation beforehand, we got seated immediately when we reached~ yeah! The restaurant was so crowded so it's better to make reservation beforehand! We ordered a cheese prawn meehun, fresh milk crab, fried fresh squid with garlic and a vege. The 2 must order items have got to be the cheese prawn meehun and fresh milk crab! You might think it's kind of weird by putting cheese and meehun together but trust me it doesn't taste weird at all!! The meehun was soaked in a delicious sauce where the cheese is melted into the gravy. The prawn was very fresh and well cooked too! The signature fresh milk crab did not disappoint too! I love how unique the taste is, but I can't really describe how does it taste hahaha wth! They use fresh milk instead of condensed milk to cook the crab and it has a slight sour taste which make the dish more appetizing. The dish comes with a plate of toasted bread for you to dip the delicious sauce, a very good alternative for fried mantou!

Went to Jonker walk after the satisfying dinner to digest the food and..yes we went for supper at Ban Li Xiang Satay Celup..hahaha what! The queue at Capitol was insane so we settled at this place instead. Shen Sim's friend who is a Malacan told us that they taste pretty much the same and Ban Li Xiang is much cheaper than Capitol. It was my first attempt on satay celup and i must say that i like the sweet and slightly spicy satay sauce a lot! Too bad we were too full from the dinner so we only took a few sticks to try.

Day 2 lunch was at Restaurant Aunty Lee which serves authentic nyonya food. We ordered 5 items to share which are Ayam Pong Teh, Beef Rendang, Cincalok Omelette, Bendih Ulam (okra topped with cincalok sambal mix) and Chap Chai to share. Everything was so amazing including the lady finger that I don't usually take! The chendol was really good too! Walked over to the Melaka Guan Yin Tong temple to offer prayer and also capture some visuals there. Went back to JB after visiting Mods Cafe which I will blog about it pretty soon..hehe!

The Lab

Chanced upon this experimental lab concept cafe along Jalan Pisang  when we were trying to look for a place for dinner. Wanted to bring them to CAD cafe but it was closed on that day, lol! I later found out that this halal cafe has replaced the 7th cylinder which i visited long time ago. For starter, we ordered the lab drumlets ($9.00) which comes in 3 level of spiciness (Yek eleh, mild & wild), can't remember which spicy level we chose but the drumlets were pretty good. As for the mains, we ordered a Gehaktball ($13.90), Russian Roulade ($15.90), Heisenberger ($12.90) and a classic beef burger ($11.90) to share. I love the Gehaktball the most! The meatballs were very juicy and the hand cut roasted potato that served as a side was really yummy too!

We celebrated these 2 aquarius boys' bday on that day but the little surprise was quite failed hahaha! We couldn't light up the candles because both of us don't know how to use a lighter LOL so in the end mz was the one who light up the candles for his own cake, as well as ec's cake XD Nonetheless we still have fun taking endless shameless selfie and stupid video, hope you guys like the little surprise~ :)
